Maximizing my wardrobe is the best thing that’s ever happen to me. Discovering new innovative ways to make one item in your closet look new and fresh every time you put it on is very important to my clients when I am styling them. They want to feel good with their purchase because they are flooded with ideas of how to style it with current pieces in their closet and make their old pieces look new again. This makes us feel good when a passerby asks you, “Hey, where did you get that shirt?”, then you answer, “It’s an oldie by so-and-so”. Revitalizing the same item over and over again is fulfilling and it’s like it has never made a hole in your wallet either. Which is probably safe to say to invest in pieces you can see yourself wearing season to season because that $200 shirt is going to live a long life in your closet.
Here I am wearing a multi-purpose poplin, button-up shirt that’s been transformed into a tank-like top with a knot tie around the waist. The collar is a nice little touch that frames the bust around to the back. I tucked the poplin number inside a distressed denim skirt and paired the look with Stan Smith sneakers and sheer white socks for a very casual outfit-of-the-day. It’s probably the most casual look I’ve sported in months. Luckily for the knot-tie, it covered up ice cream stain just at the right spot. This is why I can’t wear white most times, I’m a dysfunctional, messy eater. Who has that problem too?
Stay tuned for more ways to style this multi functional top. Happy Friday!
