7-Day Outfit Guide for Spring

Hope y'all are holding up in self-isolation. It's a little harder for me because I am so used to being out of my house almost everyday and the weather is getting warmer so I just want to be outside and create more content. What's even harder to resist is the latest daylight savings adjustment, so the sun sets later than the winter time.

I wanted to share with you my 7-day outfit last week and get you excited for the grass turning green and the beautiful golden hour of what's to come in spring. Spring officially begins in two days!

Cure the Monday Blues with a fun and flirty outfit. Monday Blues is a real mood/feeling! It makes us feel sad or depressed when we have to return to work after the weekend. We all come across different people who feel low on Mondays and wait again for Friday to come.

I am wearing a ruffle belted dress by Zara, old pair of Zara vegan suede OTK boots and Topshop camera bag.

Tuesdays aren't so bad, it's a sign that you've survived Monday so seize the day and make it ridiculously amazing with a good blazer look.

I am wearing a blazer dress by Zara with my favourite vegetable tan leather vegan Mansur Gavriel Lady bag and animal print Alexander Wang booties. The vegan leather bag has always been my work and everyday staple because of its handy size and simple design. The booties are an oldie but still a goodie with many of my winter and new spring looks today.

Happy hump day! It isn't as depressing as Monday and not as exciting as Friday, but we've made it half-way through the work week. Let's focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but building on the new.

Ironically enough, I wore camel tones for Hump Day. The camel colour is favourite winter colour to wear because it does so much justice for my complexion and hair colour. For this OOTD, I wore a Zara coat, with an old Club Monaco shirt-dress with faux leather camel pants, a fuzzy baseball cap and my everyday bag. Accessories are the perfect accents to any look so I layered all of my Ania Haie bracelets and rings as I usually do everyday with new mother of pearl earrings.

On Thursdays, I like to wear a day-to-evening type of look because I know I will be out to play once the work clock ends. A good blazer or jacket is always a idea for both professionalism and play. It's my statement piece with many of my skirts, shorts and jeans. It really elevates the look with a checked blazer or one with a solid pop of colour, like this lime green double-breasted blazer that I'm wearing from Topshop. My go-to blazer look is pairing it with a graphic print tee for an edgy vibe, a skirt or pair of shorts and high heels. For this look, I am wearing an old Zara graphic tee, faux leather Aritzia skirt, black booties and my trusty Mansur Gavriel Lady bag.

What's your work-play outfit?

It's Fri-Yay and it's time to make stories for Monday. I'm sure you've heard of casual Fridays and many people would pull on a pair of jeans without thinking of what to wear. Jeans is a very casual piece but it could be amped up with the right top, shoes and accessories.

My statement jeans are distressed boyfriend jeans or full-length straight leg jeans. My colours are black and light denim. Boyfriend jeans aren't every guy's favourite look on a girl because "it hides a perfectly good ass" (quoting from Barnett on Love Is Blind) and the same is also said for 'mom jeans' and 'high-waisted jeans'. I have to agree with him on this but issa a look for us ladies!

Here I am wearing Agolde 90's jeans, a smocked long sleeve blouse and strap sandals. Yasss, it is finally time to bring out the sandals and expose my pale feet to the world.

On Thursdays, I like to go out after work and catch up with friends at a swanky 'ol restaurant/bar. Then on Fridays, I am recovering from Thursday. Then comes Saturday, I am rejuvenated and back on my feet but still have a short work day to get through before I wine and dine with friends again.

I went all black with different textures of faux patent leather and genuine leather with a touch of leopard print to play. I wore an Urban Outfitters faux sherpa/patent leather cropped moto jacket (which I recently purchased on sale), PU Topshop skirt, Aritzia printed tank (available in solid colours) and old OTK H&M boots.

Sunday Funday! I always say that to my friends when we regroup on this day for lunch, photoshoots, dinner and desserts. I should probably rename this day to Sunday Food-Day due to the amount of eating out we do. Half of the time we like to dine at new restaurants and load up on desserts at the end of the day. Food is such an intimate thing and it should be done with good company.

If anybody that knows me well, they know that I do not schedule work or business on Sundays because I photoshoot every Sunday. It's like church to me. This is the day I get to spend time with my friends whom I designated as my fam and catch up on creating content for my Instagram and my website.

What do you do on Sundays?

Sundays, I like to dress my best. Most salespeople at retailers tell me I look like a blogger. Not sure what they mean by that or what type of style of fashion that is but I took it as a compliment.

The past Sunday, I wore a buttermilk yellow Topshop crop jumper with a light layered floral skirt and white patent booties (sold out, but available in red & metallic).

I hope this guide has given you some excitement and inspo for spring despite we are living in a time when everything is being shut down and all we ever talk about these days is the Coronavirus. I understand that we are all discouraged to leave our homes right now but perhaps this post will enlighten you with positive vibes and something to look forward to when this will all go away. I always see the light at the other end of the tunnel and never let negative factors be in the way of your happiness. So stay safe, stay aware and stay clean everyone.

- XO
