What brought you into fashion?

I’ve always wanted a career in fashion since early childhood. I wanted to be a fashion designer when I was five. I was epitomized by fashion magazines and Betty & Veronica from Archie comics, believe or not. Veronica always had the cutest outfits. Later on in high school, I knew becoming a luxury fashion designer was going to be hard because I did not have the financial backing to attend top fashion schools in New York and Europe so I gave up on that dream. In that respect, I was always very good at styling and making things look new and fresh. I realize now that I love to make women look and feel good about themselves.

Your personal approach to fashion, in a nutshell?

On the exterior, I am a girly girl. I naturally go for what I like and what excites me at that moment. I know what looks good on me so I gravitate to styles that creates a longer, leaner silhouette, such as long wide-leg trousers, maxi dresses and long coats. It’s ironic because I’m 5’4 and very petite so these styles typically would overwhelm my body type, but it works really well for me.

So you reason in the same way when dressing a client and yourself?

Of course! I don’t want to flatter myself, but I am very good at my job. I know and understand how to dress a woman after spending five minutes with her.

The people who inspired you at the time?

I followed Victoria Beckham, Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen and fashion blogger, Nicole Warne from Gary Pepper Girl.

Did you grow up in a family where fashion was important?

No. My family did not have much money but my parents were very interested in Arts. I was trained to draw, colour and paint before entering elementary school.

A powerful memory of your early love of clothes?

I spent hours cutting out images of Vogue magazines stolen from the doctor’s office and dressing my Barbie dolls with my mom’s knitted designs. My mom was very into fashion. I’d watch her try on multiple outfits in front of the mirror and followed along her makeup and skincare routine for fun.

Your all-time favourite item in your collection?

Every item I own has story behind it. It’s hard to choose one.

What is the best compliment someone can pay you?

When someone tells me that I have inspired or changed them in some way, for the better.

Where do you find your inspiration?

The world that surrounds us. I am a very visual person so when I see something, I remember it. I travel often as much as I love to shop. I look for unique trends and styles in fashion, beauty and home decor.

Available at Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart & London Drugs

I am extremely proud and excited to share with you all that you could all wear the hair color I had once upon a time before it gradually faded out to a very light blonde balayage I currently have right now!

I can actually tell you that I did not do anything dramatic since but touch up on my roots and added warm blonde highlights to make it more dimensional.

Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
