BOTANY STORY: PRINT TROUSERS & DOUBLE LAYERED TOP

Happy Tuesday! Today's outfit of the moment consist of this botanical print trousers and double layered top that reminds me of the traditional Vietnamese gown, "ao dai". A pair of print trousers performs its best with a solid one-tone top to not over-power the print and still contains its elegance and fashion forward look. You want the print to stand out with a solid blank canvas side-by-side. Otherwise a print-on-print play may look tacky if you don't do it the right way. Also, a long wide-leg trouser creates an illusion of longer legs when your pants hide your shoes. But don't drag your pants on the floor and be sure to wear them with high heels though. We typically think that only the tall woman or skinny woman is able to pull this off. This is why I always opt for this silhouette, especially for my petite body type. A high-waisted pair are great for short legged women to create an illusion of elongation. Try to balance the entire look with a slim fitting top for a classical look.

COLOURS OF THE FLAG: THE DENIM BUTTON-DOWN MIDI SKIRT

Happy 4th of July to my American friends. I wish to visit one of the US cities on this day someday. I am really curious as to how big their celebration is for a day like this so I will make it my goal to make that happen. Today, I am coincidentally wearing some American flag colours, red and blue. The North American tuxedo consists of blue denim and I am loving this button-down, midi denim skirt by Front Row Shop, similar to the short version I wore here. The length, 4-pocket and button details is perfect for any occasion and a chic update for those casual Fridays at the office.

CROPPED KNIT & PALE BLUE CULOTTES

Happy Canada Day! Canada turned 148 years old yesterday and I am very proud and fortunate to be Canadian, except for the fact that the country is involved in the fight against ISIS. What can we do right? Anyways, I celebrated with my favourite people at the annual Ribfest and completed the evening with amazing show of fireworks by Centennial Park.

I absolutely love this minimal and cozy look with my new platinum hair. What do you guys think of the new hair colour? I styled a cropped knit sweater with my new pale blue culottes and mules for the chilly and rainy summer day. Summer has just started and it is off to a chilly start. Mexico would be perfect right now. Maybe it's time for another sunny vacay... wishful thinking at this moment.
